Charlie and Zoe Take the Prizes

Today, we held our 2nd junior match of the year at Bradshaw Hall Fisheries Lake 7, where we had 8 of our juniors taking part. Once again, we split the match up into 2 sections; Section 1 Advanced Juniors and Section 2 Up and Comers.

With a decent weather forecast for a change, we were hoping for an enjoyable day on the bank. The draw some a few repeat pegs from match 1 (Charlie and Peter), with Lucy in her first ever competition drawing the ‘death peg’ (as sportingly informed by her older brother – but fortunately actually related to a different lake 😊).

The match started off fairly slowly across the whole lake, but then each person started to work out how their peg was working. Surprisingly, it varied significantly across the lake with maggot working in some areas and pellet in others – plus we had a few showers that weren’t welcome.

In Section 1 – Advanced Juniors, Charlie took the top spot with a weight of 43lb 3oz followed in second by Harry L with 12lb 13oz.

In Section 2 – Up and Comers, Zoe took first place with a weight of 34lb 12oz (individual PB), second place went to Rory with 18lb 11oz, and 3rd place was Peter with 12lb 8oz.

Well done to all who took part today especially Charlie and Zoe on their great wins 🎣🎣🎣🎣. Also, a special well done to Lucy fishing her first ever match and working hard all the way through to the very end.

Thanks to all the coaches and supporters for giving up their time to help today, much appreciated. And a special mention to Colin, who has become the clubs diving champion today 😂😂😂

Cheers

Lee (match secretary)

Springwood Work Party – A Job Well Done!!

Some hard working lads shifted tons of stone to improve the dam path on our Springwood water today. Big thanks from Allan and Neil, we couldn’t run the club without you. A warm welcome to Dan, new member on his first working party and a real bonus for us. Thanks again and if nothing else pop down for a cuppa on Thursday nights when the junior coaching starts.
